‘We’ve run out of things to cut’: Georgetown ISD considering tax election for teacher raises

To generate additional funding, trustees and district leaders are considering a Tax Ratification Election (TRE), which would require voter approval to increase the district’s maintenance and operations (M&O) tax rate. If approved, officials said it could generate more than $6 million to help fund staff raises.​
