Bastrop County couple sue neighbor, county sheriff, several deputies after criminal cases dismissed

Two Bastrop County residents filed lawsuits against the county, County Sheriff Maurice Cook, at least 10 deputies, and the couple’s neighbor, accusing them of violating the couple’s civil rights during their arrests in 2024 for charges that were later dropped.​
